PETRU KSS is a London-based techno artist, live performer, DJ, producer, researcher, and label founder. His work sits at the intersection of hardware-centric live performance, real-time improvisation, and deep, hypnotic techno, with a strong emphasis on physical interaction, risk, and human decision-making in performance.
Known for immersive solo live sets, PETRU treats the stage as a space for real-time composition rather than playback, shaping structure, tension, and texture instinctively through hands-on control. Alongside his solo live performances, PETRU regularly performs DJ sets, with recent broadcasts and appearances on HÖR Berlin, Mission London, and Liminal Space. Across both formats, performance is approached as a fluid, responsive process rather than a fixed reproduction.
In March 2026, PETRU released his landmark debut, Kolibri Live LP, on his own Kolibri Space Shuttle Records. Framed as a call to ‘take your soul beyond gravity’, it is a sci-fi-tinged journey from organic earth to deep space. Recorded live at sunrise in the Corsican wilderness and mixed by Hannes Bieger, it charted in Deep/Raw/Hypnotic and Electronica on Beatport.
His live work is built around his custom THRiPPS system (Techno, Hardware-centric, Real-time, Improvisation, Production & Performance Study), developed in parallel with his ongoing PhD research into solo live electronic music practice: a project awarded the Richie Hawtin Scholarship in Electronic Music.
Beyond his Kolibri Space Shuttle imprint, his original music features the Mirage, Drifting Embers, and Qanun EPs on City Wall Records. His work has been remixed by artists such as Dubfire, .VRIL, Arnaud Le Texier and Hannes Bieger, with support from DJs like John Digweed.
His music and practice have been featured in Mixmag, FAZEmag, Beatportal, and The Night Bazaar, reflecting a profile that bridges club culture, live performance, and research-driven exploration.
