PETRU KSS – Mediocracy EP
Escape the Void Crisis – Hypnotic and raw, Mediocracy EP is PETRU’s latest journey into gritty techno, exploring the shifting moods and tensions across the architecture of techno spaces. Built on dissonant synths and syncopated grooves, the main track evokes the shiny superficiality of our modern world, and comes with an alternative mix that cuts straight to the core.
ØLMØ’s remix enhances the tension with polymetrical sequences and granular textures, injecting hypnotic, trippy energy; while SETHI ONE delivers a mechanical, mental reinterpretation, blending industrial drones and spontaneous grooves for a twisted live take.
The EP also features Prelude to Mediocracy, an ambient, cinematic soundscape closing the journey with atmosphere and depth, as well as its drone version for meditative purposes.
In light of PETRU’s upcoming album, Mediocracy EP forms a vivid chapter into the techno realm, reflecting psychological tensions and the universal urge to break free.

– “PETRU KSS beweist damit, dass er keine Angst vor den rauen, schmutzigen Ecken des Genres hat. Ganz im Gegenteil: Er macht sie zur Bühne. Mediocracy EP ist mal überhaupt nicht hier, um nett zu sein. Sie ist hier, um deine Synapsen zu zerlegen und neu zu verkabeln. Der titelgebende Track, in seiner Originalversion wie auch im alternativen Mix, stürzt sich in dissonante Synthwellen und peitschende Grooves – ein rhythmisches Wühlen im technoiden Unterbewusstsein. Die Remixsektion bringt zwei sehr unterschiedliche, aber gleichermaßen faszinierende Perspektiven. ØLMØ schraubt die Spannung mit polymetrischen Sequenzen und einer Prise Körnigkeit hoch – hypnotisch, verwirrend, fast wie eine meditative Panikattacke. Sethi One hingegen führt uns in eine dystopische Maschine, wo Dröhnen, Knarzen und spontane Strukturen ein klangliches Paralleluniversum bauen. Beide Remixe liefern genau das, was gute Remixe tun sollten: neue Interpretationen, kein simples Aufpolieren.“
